White Christmas

White Christmas at the St. George Opera House, built in 1865 as a Garden Club and wine cellar. In 1880 it was a social gathering place. 

Tour Guides go to the Opera House to see White Christmas.

This lady played Emma, the General's innkeeper. What a voice. To the movie watchers, she never sang in the movie.

KW found a new Bison to ride and take a picture with. 

After the show we walked down to get a bowl of homemade soup. Thomas Judd's store was built in 1911.  Judd's Store is the second oldest ongoing business establishment in St. George. 

Then off to a food truck that is completely vegan and dairy free for dessert.

A foot note on Captain Pike. After just one day, he has been throwing his weight around thinking he is an actual Captain, barking out orders. He has been demoted and hense forth will be known as Pike.  Sorry Cruise Talker.

KW tells the story of Rat.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, children of all ages, gather around and you shall hear the amazing story of the Rat. While in Sequoia NP Mrs. Tour guide found this Rat wondering around out side in the cold. She decided he should join the Most Excellent Adventure Tour. Thus began the saga of the Rat. 

After doing some research on his background to make sure he had his passport in order and had been vaccinated, I found out he is not a Rat. So now we begin the story. It turns out he is a Pika. A Pika you ask, what is a pika? He is a small mountain dwelling mammal found in Asia and North America. As you can see he has short limbs, very round body, an even coat of fur, and no external tail. Some say he resembles a Rabbit, but with short, rounded ears. So there you go, he is not a Rat. So in honor of the Cruise Talker's love of Star Trek I'm naming him Captain Pike.
