Angles Landing - Nuff said

Hey KW, we are off to Zion National Park to hike Angles Landing.  ANGLES LANDING, are you kidding me.  People have falling off and died climbing that mountain.  KW don't be so dramatic.  CJ's not going to like this.  Like what KW?  We are climbing Angles Landing today.  Oh cool, I have been wanting to climb that mountain for a long time.  Hey Mrs. tour guide, are you excited to do this today?  Yes CJ, I'm very excited.  We can cross it off out our bucket list.  When y'all are finished talking can we get on the road.

Getting ready to hike.

We are going up there?

Hiking 2 miles up several switchbacks just to get to the last 1/2 mile to the top.

Hey Mom, look, no hands.

Hey tour guide, look at us.

Looks like we made it too.

A few more pictures hiking up and down.

We met these three ladies from Chattanooga on their way up.

As Mrs. tour guide is coming back down, I hear, Hey photo op here.

This is strenuous and kind of scary.

Jason, where you here?  You do know you are not supposed deface Federal Parks property?

This mountain was on the way out of the park.

These boots are made for hiking, and thats just what they'll do, one of these days these boots are gonna hike all over you.  Are you ready boots?  Start hiking.  Hey KW, how do you like my song.  Tour guide, that is an old Nancy Sinatra song, These boots are made for walking.  Oh man, now I'm starting to act like you.

Some nice homes on our walk, sorry, hike.

While walking to the end of one block, we saw these horses.

After hiking we went to the Hur-a-kin museum.

We then went to a couple of Antique Malls across the street.

Reading Books and Buying Boots

Today is a rest day, so the blog will be short.

Barnes and Noble

Craig and Savanah sent us a picture of the  Hollywood sign.  While waiting for results of their screen test for the new Ken and Barbie movie, they are making commercials.  They sent of this picture of them modeling hiking boots for Dicks Sporting Goods.  We liked it so well, we went to our local Dicks and bought the same boots.

Hey tour guide, why did you attach the Sign of blame to me?  The short answer is "Because I can".  What's the long answer?  Because I-I-I-I CA-A-A-N.  Oh very funny, HA, HA, HA...

The Tale of Quail Creek

Hey tour guide, before we get on the road I have a question to ask you.  Ok KW, ask away.  I was wondering if you had heard from the Hollywood duo?  No I haven't heard anything yet.  It could take some time before screen tests are completed.  Oh ok, where are we off to today?  We are starting out hiking in Quail Creek State Park.  Are there any rocks to climb?  I guess we will find out in a few minutes.

Fosils in the rocks.

Hey tour guide, we are sun bathing.

A Gull enjoying early morning snack.

Hey tour guide, look over there, its a BIG snake.

Hey tour guide we need a paddle to get up this creek.

Whoa, look over there,  it Chewbacca.

KW, it's not chewbacca.

Tour guide, look, I found a divining rod.  I think water is close by.  KW, we are at a lake.  Oh, well it would work if we weren't close to water.

Yippee, look over there, big rocks.  Lets climb them.  Ok, you two go ahead.

Hey CJ, this is a tough one.  Come on KW, I'm already at the top.

WOW, looks like we made it.

Hey look over there, Stonehenge.  Can we climb it?  No KW, don't knock it down.  KW, get down.

Rocks, rocks and more rocks.  Hey Bro, if dad had owned this property, we'd still be picking rocks.

Some readers of this blog have seen the real Stonehenge.  Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England.  It consists of a ring of standing stones, with each standing stone 13 ft high, 6 ft 11 in wide and weighing around 25 tons.  The stones are set within earthworks in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze  Age monuments in England.
