Day 9 - 7000 ft. in the air

We are in Mesa Verde N. P. in Cortez Colorado.

Here they are again,  the Usie crew.

This is really embarassing. We are in a bowl on a statue.

It's fun to watch our tour guide stamp in her book. We get to stamp together today.

Hey tour guide, why are we going to the ruins? Who ruined them? I know it wasn't me. Woah, wait a minute. How high are we going up? 7000 ft. Not real sure if I like this. Hey did you see that bear run in front of us and into the woods.  I can't believe you missed the picture. Tour guide says to tell his brother that he still can't answer the question.

This is what it would have looked like if the tour guide had been paying attention.

So here we are at the Step House. It's a mile walk round trip. Doesn't bother me.  The tour guide carries us every where.

Why can't we climb the ladder? Doesn't look to difficult. Tour guide goes up. Tour guide goes down. Hey,  that looks easy.

These ruins look really cool. We are learning a lot about our National Parks on this trip.

Oh look,  a groupie. who are those people with the tour guides. I have never seen them before. Ok, now I know. Bob and Pia from Gatlinburg Tennessee.

We will be touring the Cliff Plalace and Balcony House tomorrow. So until then.

TTFN.

PS.  Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from AD 600 to 1300.
